One area that I specialise in is autism and neurodiversity, which includes, (although not limited to): Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. I provide a counselling service for autistic and neurodivergent people (whether they have received a diagnosis or not). I also work with the carers, friends and wider family of autistic and neurodivergent people.
I have experience of autism and neurodiversity within a counselling capacity and as a specialist mentor. My familial experiences of autism and neurodiversity means that I can relate to, and have experienced first-hand, some of the challenges resulting from autism and neurodiversity.

Autism and neurodiversity can affect individuals in a number of ways. Whilst autistic or neurodiverse individuals will share certain characteristics, they will experience these differently. I modify the counselling sessions to accommodate your individual needs and I invite you to contact me to discuss your needs.
Some of the modifications that I can make include: incorporating special interests into sessions, altering the length or frequency of sessions, encouraging additional breaks, following a clear structure, setting an agenda, reducing environmental noise and visual distractions along with displaying information visually where appropriate. Further to this, I allow extra processing time and I am therefore comfortable with extra silences.
Please contact me to discuss your individual needs.
